The purpose of this Responsible Liquor Sales policy is to ensure that The Hamper Boutique Co complies with all relevant laws, regulations and industry codes pertaining to the sale and delivery of alcohol in Australia while promoting responsible drinking among our customers. Our aim is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our customers when purchasing our gift hampers containing alcohol, whether they are shipped locally or Australia-wide.
Scope
This policy applies to all customers of The Hamper Boutique Co who purchase or receive gifts containing liquor through our website, by phone, or in person, and to all staff and contractors involved in liquor sales activities. It covers all aspects of the sale and delivery of alcoholic beverages, including identification checks, sales procedures, delivery protocols and responsible service of alcohol. The policy is intended to guide the conduct of our staff and contractors involved in liquor sales activities and to promote a culture of responsible drinking within our organisation and among our customers.
Acknowledgement of legal drinking age
Before placing an order for a gift hamper containing alcohol, customers must acknowledge that the recipient of the gift hamper is of legal drinking age (18 years or older). This acknowledgement may be obtained through our website, by phone, or in person.
Proof of age
Our delivery partners are required to check the identification of the recipient at the time of delivery to confirm their age. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver’s license, passport, or a proof of age card issued by the government.
Non-delivery to minors
If the recipient is unable to provide valid identification or is found to be under the legal drinking age, we will not deliver the gift hamper containing alcohol and will instead return it to The Hamper Boutique Co. In such cases, we will work with the customer to find a satisfactory resolution, which may include providing a non-alcoholic gift hamper or issuing a refund.
Non-attended deliveries
We do not leave deliveries unattended. Our delivery partners will make attempts to deliver the gift hamper to the recipient or a designated person over the age of 18. If the delivery cannot be completed, the gift hamper will be returned to The Hamper Boutique Co, and appropriate arrangements will be made for redelivery or collection. Additional charges will apply to reattempt the delivery.
Authorised Delivery Hours
Liquor deliveries may be made within the specified hours as follows:
Between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. on any day other than Sunday, Good Friday, ANZAC Day, or Christmas Day.
Between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Between 12 noon and 11 p.m. on ANZAC Day.
Prohibited Delivery Days:
No liquor deliveries are permitted on Christmas Day or Good Friday.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998:
Supplying Alcohol to Minors: It is a severe offence to supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years. Non-compliance with this regulation attracts severe penalties, which may exceed $17,000. The Company will not tolerate any such violations and will cooperate fully with relevant authorities in cases of suspected infringement.
Purchase or Receipt of Liquor by Minors: Similarly, it is an offence for a person under the age of 18 years to purchase or receive liquor. Penalties for such offences may exceed $700.
